Changed traffic conditions on M1 Princes Motorway at Albion Park Rail
23 September 2015
Parliamentary Secretary for the Illawarra and South Coast, and Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has today advised local motorists from across the region of changed traffic conditions from this Sunday night for essential maintenance to improve motorists’ safety on the M1 Princes Motorway at Albion Park Rail.
Mr Ward said that road patching and vegetation removal will be carried out between Tongarra Road and Colden Drive to provide a safer road surface, remove hazards and improve the sight distance for motorists.
“Work will take place between 7pm and 2am from this Sunday 27th September to Friday 2nd October, weather permitting,” he said.
“One lane on the M1 Princes Motorway will be closed in each direction while work is carried out, while traffic control and a reduced 40 km/h speed limit will also be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Every effort will be made to minimise noise associated with the work and I certainly thank local motorists for their patience whilst this important work is being carried out,” Mr Ward concluded.
