Changed traffic conditions on Windang Road at Primbee for maintenance work
12 October 2015
Parliamentary Secretary for the Illawarra and South Coast, and Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has today advised local motorists of changed traffic conditions starting tomorrow on Windang Road at Primbee for essential maintenance work to improve safety for road users.
Mr Ward said the New South Wales Government allocated $1.3 million for the maintenance project.
“The asphalt surface will be replaced and line marking carried out between Lakeview Parade and Boundary Road to provide a safer road surface,” he said.
“Work will be carried out at night to minimise impact on the community and changed traffic conditions will be in place.
“Work is scheduled for Sunday to Thursday nights between 7pm and 6am from tomorrow Tuesday 13th October to Wednesday 21st October, weather permitting.
“Work will take place on the southbound lanes of Windang Road between the Golf Course and Boundary Road from tomorrow Tuesday 13th October and on the northbound lanes between Lakeview Parade to just north of the Golf Club from Monday 19th October.
“Traffic will be reduced to one lane while work is carried out, with traffic control and a reduced 40 km/h speed limit in place during work hours for the safety of workers and motorists.
“Access to properties will be maintained and every effort will be made to minimise noise associated with the work.
“I certainly thank local motorists across the region for their patience whilst this important work is being carried out,” Mr Ward concluded.
