14 October 2015
Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead has announced work is now complete on the $3.2 million safety upgrade of Wallanbah Road at Nabiac.
Mr Bromhead said the NSW Government funded the project as part of a $7.5 million commitment to upgrade Wallanbah and Avalon roads between Nabiac and Krambach to improve road safety and reduce ongoing maintenance costs.
“Work on this section of Wallanbah Road included realigning the Wallanbah and Avalon Road intersection and rebuilding about 1.5 kilometres of road between Koribah Lane and Avalon Road,” Mr Bromhead said.
“The upgrade included improving the road surface and widening the lanes and road shoulders to improve safety for all road users.
“The completed project will also reduce future maintenance costs for Greater Taree City Council.
“Funding for the project was part of an election commitment for the 2011 State election and work has been carried out over the past couple of years and since August 2014 for the newly opened section.
“I want to thank motorists for their patience while this important safety upgrade was completed.
“The project is part of the NSW Government’s commitment to providing safe and efficient road infrastructure for the community and businesses in the Manning Valley.”.
