Safer road surface on Wilfred Barrett Drive
20 October 2015
Roads and Maritime Services advises motorists of changed traffic conditions on Wilfred Barrett Drive at The Entrance North from this Sunday night for essential maintenance work to be carried out.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter, Scot MacDonald MLC said the NSW Government allocated more than $2.7 million to resurface 1.9 kilometres of Wilfred Barrett Drive between Mini Street and north of Terilbah Place and between Magenta Drive and Pelican Beach Road.
“Work will improve road safety and ride quality and includes new linemarking, replacing a pedestrian refuge and guardrail improvements,” Mr MacDonald said.
Changed traffic conditions will be in place Sunday to Thursday between 7pm and 5am from 25 October until early December, weather permitting.
Traffic control and a temporary 40 km/h reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Roads and Maritime thanks the community for its patience while this essential maintenance work is carried out.
