Night investigation work on Berry to Bomaderry upgrade
23 October 2015
Parliamentary Secretary for the Illawarra and South Coast Gareth Ward has advised motorists that night investigation work will be carried out in early November to inform the detailed design for the Berry to Bomaderry Princes Highway upgrade.
Mr Ward said the NSW Government allocated $4.5 million this year to progress planning for the upgrade, which will include survey, geotechnical and utility investigations along the length of the project between Mullers Lane at Berry and Cambewarra Road at Bomaderry.
“Night work will be carried out on Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 November, weather permitting, as part of the continued planning for this much needed upgrade,” Mr Ward said.
“Roads and Maritime will carry out work between 7pm and 5am, weather permitting, including testing the road surface between Abernethys Lane and Cambewarra Road at Bomaderry.
“Motorists are advised the work requires changed traffic conditions including lane closures for the safety of workers and motorists.
“Traffic control and reduced speed limits will be in place during work hours.
“Every effort will be made to minimise noise associated with this work.”
Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their patience while this work is carried out.
The proposed upgrade of the Princes Highway between Mullers Lane at Berry and Cambewarra Road at Bomaderry will provide around 10.6 kilometres of divided highway, with two lanes in each direction.
