Have a say on night work on Kingsway, Caringbah
26 October 2015
Roads and Maritime Services is inviting community feedback on proposed night work to upgrade the Kingsway at Caringbah.
Member for Miranda, Eleni Petinos MP, said the night work would deliver a stronger, longer lasting and safer road for local road users and residents.
“Roads and Maritime is inviting community feedback on a proposal to work up to five nights a week for six weeks to deliver this essential maintenance work for the local community,” Ms Petinos said.
The work will include removing trees from the centre median to ensure a clear line of sight for motorists. These trees will be replaced with low maintenance native grasses and shrubs, in consultation with Sutherland Shire Council.
“In order to limit the impact of noise on residents and road users, work would be carried out at night with noisy work like jackhammering and breaking concrete until midnight only.
“We welcome feedback and would appreciate comments on the proposed night work schedule by Friday 30 October 2015,” Ms Petinos said.
“Feedback will be reviewed and the community updated as the project progresses.”
