Let there be traffic lights at Terrigal Drive intersection
Monday 30th November 2015
Roads and Maritime Services will turn on the traffic lights at the intersection of Terrigal Drive and Brunswick Road in Terrigal next week as part of a major milestone in the safety improvements on Terrigal Drive.
Adam Crouch Member for Terrigal said the traffic lights would be activated on Monday 30 November as part of the next major traffic switch on the project, which is due for completion early next year, weather permitting.
“The NSW Government allocated $25 million to upgrade Terrigal Drive at the intersections of Charles Kay Drive and Brunswick Road. This investment aims to improve safety and reduce delays during peak travel times for the 25,000 vehicles which use this section of Terrigal Drive each day” said Mr. Crouch.
“The new lights at the Brunswick Road intersection will be synchronised with the lights at the Charles Kay Drive intersection.
“This project will optimise traffic flow along Terrigal Drive, a major arterial road linking residential and tourist areas with the Central Coast Highway and the surrounding commercial area of Erina” said Adam Crouch.
The work, which started in June 2014, includes widening Terrigal Drive between Duffys Road and Brunswick Road to provide two through lanes in each direction and additional left and right turn lanes out of Charles Kay Drive.
Motorists are advised the right turn from Terrigal Drive into Brunswick Road will not be available until the project is complete in early 2016, weather permitting.
