Bulli Pass to close next week for essential maintenance
1 December 2015
Parliamentary Secretary for the Illawarra and South Coast, and Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has today advised local motorists across the region that Bulli Pass will be closed for two days next week to allow maintenance work to be carried out to improve road user safety.
Mr Ward said that the work involves repairing the road surface, replacing and repairing drains and guardrails, vegetation removal, litter collection, cleaning and repairing signs and inspection of the road surface.
“To ensure that the work is carried out safely and efficiently, Bulli Pass will be closed between 9am and 3pm on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th December, weather permitting,” he said.
“Detours will be in place via Memorial Drive and the M1 Princes Motorway or via Lawrence Hargrave Drive, adding an extra 20 minutes to journey times.
“Access will be maintained for residents living on Bulli Pass, but they must enter from Lawrence Hargrave Drive.
“Traffic control will be in place to help direct motorists, while electronic message signs on the side of the road will advise of any changes to work dates and times.
“I certainly thank local motorists across the region for their patience whilst this important work is being carried out,” Mr Ward concluded.
