Have a say on intersection improvements near Nepean Hospital
Tuesday 1 December 2015
Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith invites residents and motorists to provide feedback on a NSW Government proposal to reduce congestion and improve safety near Nepean Hospital at Kingswood.
The $900,000 proposal includes upgrading the intersection at Parker Street on The Northern Road and Derby Street.
“The roads around Nepean Hospital can be busy and this upgrade would provide improvements for road users,” Stuart Ayres said.
“The north and southbound right turn bays on Parker Street will be extended and the kerb line in the centre median adjusted, with new light phasing and installation of CCTV to monitor traffic.” Stuart Ayres said.
During the work, Roads and Maritime Services proposes to install a ‘No Parking Zone’ on the north and southbound kerbside lanes of Parker Street between Derby and Stafford streets and on the Parker Street southbound kerbside lane between Derby and Lethbridge streets.
There will two lanes operating in both directions at all times and traffic control will be in place.
The work will be carried out at night for eight weeks to minimise traffic disruption.
Feedback can be provided by Friday 11 December via mail to Downer Mouchel at C/- DownerMouchel, Parker and Derby Street, Kingswood PO Box 6465 North Ryde NSW 2113.
Or email: Enquiries_nsw@downermouchel.com
Feedback will be considered and the community updated as the project progresses.
