Major project starts to deliver safer road surface in Goulburn
Tuesday 16 February 2016
Member for Goulburn Pru Goward today announced an extensive road work project will start next week on Braidwood Road at Goulburn to improve motorists’ safety.
Ms Goward said the NSW Government allocated $1.3 million to reseal Braidwood Road for 1.3 kilometres between Thorns Bridge and Harringtons Lane.
“Work will involve gravel and sealing work to provide a safer road surface for all road users,” Ms Goward said.
“Palerang Council will complete the work on behalf of Roads and Maritime Services.
“The work is part of Roads and Maritime’s commitment to delivering safe efficient and high quality services for the Goulburn community.”
Work will be carried out on weekdays between 7am and 5pm from Monday 15 February until June, weather permitting.
Lane closures, traffic control and a reduced road work speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place for the duration of the project to ensure the safety of workers and motorists.
Every effort will be made to minimise noise associated with the work and access to properties will be maintained at all times.
Electronic message signs along the road will display the most up to date information including any changes to work dates and times.
Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their patience while work is carried out.
