Have your say on work schedule for intersection improvements at Newbridge and Epsom Roads
14 March 2016
State Member for Holsworthy, Melanie Gibbons MP today invited the community to provide feedback on the proposed night work construction schedule for intersection improvements at Newbridge and Epsom roads in Moorebank.
Ms Gibbons said the project had been given the green light following positive community feedback during the consultation process last year.
“Roads and Maritime Services is progressing plans to make the intersection of Newbridge and Epsom roads safer after 19 incidents were reported between July 2007 and June 2013,” Ms Gibbons said.
“The NSW Government is funding the project through the $500 million Black Spot Program, which aims to improve safety and reduce the risk of incidents across the road network.
“The project includes installing traffic lights and three pedestrian crossings, providing a dedicated right turn lane on Newbridge Road for motorists turning into Epsom Road, and installing a CCTV camera for monitoring.
“Feedback about the work was sought last year with the vast majority of people and organisations who commented, in support of the proposal.
“Two additional pedestrian crossings have been included in the revised design to address comments from the community about improving pedestrian and cyclist safety.
“Community members are now invited to have a say on the work schedule for the project.
“Work could be carried out from 8pm to 5am for five nights a week for seven weeks or two nights a week for up to seven months. Work is expected to start in April.”
All feedback can be emailed to email@example.com or DownerMouchel PO Box 6465 North Ryde NSW 2113.
