Safety to be improved at intersection west of Corowa
29 April 2016
Member for Albury, Greg Aplin said safety improvement work starts next week at the intersection of Spring Drive and Freyers Road, about 10 kilometres west of Corowa.
Mr Aplin said the NSW Government allocated $400,000 to improve motorists’ safety and traffic efficiency on this section of road.
“The bend at the intersection will be reshaped, roadside drains improved and a turning lane provided,” Mr Aplin said.
“This work will improve traffic flow and visibility for motorists at the intersection.
“Work will be carried out on weekdays between 7am and 5pm from Monday 2 May and is expected to be completed by the end of June, weather permitting.
“Lane closures and a reduced 40 km/h speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists while access to nearby properties will be maintained.
“Minor delays are expected and motorists should plan ahead, allow extra travel time and follow the direction of traffic control and signs.”
Roads and Maritime thanks the community for its patience while this important work is carried out.
