Have your say on vehicle activated signs for the Pacific Highway at Cowan

4 May 2016

Community members are invited to provide feedback on a proposal to install two vehicle activated signs on the Pacific Highway at Cowan.

Hornsby MP Matt Kean said the solar power signs would provide approaching motorists with advanced warning of curves.

“The Pacific Highway through Cowan is used by tourists including motorcyclists as it is a scenic route,” Mr Kean said.

“An analysis of crash data showed six crashes occurred between 435m and 860m north of Fraser Road in the five years to 31 December 2014 with the majority on the bend north of Cowan.

“A sign would be installed for northbound road users about 455m north of Fraser Road and the other sign for southbound road users about 840m north of Fraser Road.

“These would aim to help reduce the number of incidents and encourage safer driving behaviour.”

Work would take four nights to complete in June or July.

Feedback on the proposal can be sent by Tuesday 17 May to project delivery partner DownerMouchel at PO Box 6465 North Ryde NSW 2113.
