Have your say on NorthConnex Design and Landscape Plan

Member for Hornsby, Matt Kean, and Federal Member for Berowra, Julian Leeser, have urged the community to have its say on stage one of the Urban Design and Landscape Plan (UDLP) for the $3 billion NorthConnex project.

The UDLP provides details and artists impressions of what NorthConnex could look like once the project is finished.

“This is a genuine opportunity for local residents and the broader community to help shape what the project will look like in the end and I encourage people to get involved,” Mr Kean said.

“Stage one of the plan outlines the urban landscape and design principles for the project and provides insight into the final look of the project’s bridges, pedestrian routes and noise and retaining walls.”

“The plan is being delivered in two parts so this great project for our local area can consult early on features such as noise walls and build them as quickly as possible.”

“The noise walls have been designed to reduce noise for residents once the motorway is in operation, however by designing and building them early we are providing an additional benefit for the local community by reducing construction noise as well.”

Stage two of consultation will happen next year and include buildings such as the Motorway Operations Complex, service buildings and ventilation outlets.

“In order for the plan to be approved and implemented, NorthConnex needs to go through this robust community consultation to ensure it listens to the ideas and vision of the community.  I encourage local residents to take the opportunity to take part,” Mr Leeser said

The UDLP can be viewed at NorthConnex Community Information Centre at 118 Yarrara Road, Pennant Hills 2150 or at selected local libraries, or by visiting www.northconnex.com.au/UDLP.
