Proposed safety improvements on Wilfred Barrett Drive and Bungary Road

29 September 2016

Roads and Maritime Services is inviting the community to have a say on a proposal for safety improvement work at the intersection of Wilfred Barrett Drive and Bungary Road.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Scot MacDonald said the NSW Government is providing $500,000 for the project to improve pedestrian facilities and change traffic movements at the intersection.

“The project involves installing a pedestrian refuge on Wilfred Barrett Drive and footpaths,” Mr MacDonald said.

“It would also provide a dedicated right turn facility for vehicles turning right out of Bungary Road and a dedicated left turn lane for vehicles turning into Bungary Road.

“Drainage pits would also be replaced and improved as part of the work and northbound vehicles on Wilfred Barrett Drive would no longer be able to turn right into Bungary Road.”

The community can have a say before 5pm on Friday 14 October.

Feedback can be emailed to the Project Manager Babak Saniei at Babak.saniei@rms.nsw.gov.au, by writing to Roads and Maritime Services, Locked Bag 2030 Newcastle or by calling 02 4924 0647 during business hours.

All feedback will be considered when finalising the proposal and the community will be updated as the project progresses.
