Toolijooa on ramp to temporarily close as bypass work progresses
4 May 2017
Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has today advised local motorists of changed traffic conditions on the Princes Highway from next week as work progresses on the $580 million Foxground and Berry bypass.
Mr Ward said that the on ramp to the Princes Highway at the Toolijooa Road interchange will be temporarily closed next Wednesday and Thursday, weather permitting.
“The ramp will be closed to complete remaining road surface work on the on ramp at the interchange,” he said.
“To complete the work safely and efficiently, the ramp will be closed between 9am and 6pm next Wednesday 10th May and between 8am and 6pm on Thursday 11th May, weather permitting.
“Motorists who wish to access the Princes Highway and are travelling north towards Gerringong and Kiama will be detoured via Donovan Road and the Austral Park Road temporary intersection.
“This detour may add around five minutes to journey times and traffic control and signs will be in place to help direct motorists.
“For the safety of workers and motorists, traffic control and reduced speed limits will be in place on the Princes Highway and around the Toolijooa Road interchange until mid-May 2017, weather permitting.
“The community is thanked for its patience as work continues,” Mr Ward concluded.
