22 May 2017
Michael Johnsen MP, Member for Upper Hunter is advising motorists of changed traffic conditions for road widening work on the Golden Highway at Denman from this Wednesday.
Mr Johnsen said Roads and Maritime Services will carry out the work along a 900 metre section of the highway between Crinoline Street and 200 metres north of Kenilworth Street to improve motorists’ safety.
“Work involves widening the road shoulders and line marking and is expected to take four weeks to complete, weather permitting,” Mr Johnsen said.
“Changed traffic conditions will be in place during work hours between 7am and 5pm on weekdays from Wednesday 24 May.
“To ensure the safety of workers and motorists, single lane closures, a reduced 40 km/h speed limit and stop/slow traffic arrangements will be in place.
Motorists are advised to follow the direction of traffic control, signs and keep to the reduced speed limits.
“As ever, Roads and Maritime thanks our local community for its patience while work is carried out,” Mr Johnsen concluded.
