New Laggers Point boat ramp
Friday 8 September, 2017
Boaters can now use new, upgraded facilities at the Laggers Point boat ramp, at Trial Bay, South West Rocks.
Member for Oxley, Melinda Pavey MP, said the NSW Government provided more than half a million dollars under the NSW Boating Now program to improve the ramp and its surroundings.
“Improvement works included widening the access road, installing additional car and trailer parking, upgrading the waterfront picnic area,
enhancing traffic flow and creating safe pedestrian access.
"The work is a great example of what can be achieved under the NSW Government’s Boating Now program. A working group was formed to look at options to improve access to the boat ramp, while being mindful of the nearby camping ground.
"The group was initiated by EcoFishers and includes members from National Parks and Wildlife Service, Roads and Maritime, DPI Fisheries, Crown Lands, Marine Rescue, South West Rocks Chamber of Commerce and Kempsey Shire Council.
"I thank and congratulate all for their initiative, commitment and assistance.”
"The new ramp is now well and truly open and I encourage people to make the most of the new infrastructure," Mrs Pavey said.
