Night work on bridge across the Hunter River on New England Highway
9 January 2018
Michael Johnsen MP is advising motorists of changed traffic conditions next week on the bridge across the Hunter River on the New England Highway at Singleton for essential maintenance work.
Mr Johnsen said Roads and Maritime Services will carry out the work, which includes cleaning the bridge deck, minor vegetation clearing and joint maintenance.
“Work will start next Tuesday 16 January and is expected to be completed on Friday 19 January, weather permitting,” Mr Johnsen said.
“To reduce the impact to motorists, work will be carried out between 7.30pm and 5am.
“Lane closures will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists, which may affect travel times. Motorists are advised to plan ahead for short delays of up to five minutes.
“Motorists are advised to keep to speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs.
“Roads and Maritime thanks our local community for its patience while this work is carried out,” Mr Johnsen concluded.
