Hive of activity on Bruxner Highway around Lismore

It will be all systems go on the Bruxner Highway from next month when road repair work gets under way at several locations around Lismore.
Mr George said the NSW Government is providing $4.4 million for the package of work which will provide a smoother and safer road and reduce future maintenance requirements.
“Work will be carried out on the Bruxner Highway at Bugden Bridge, Ballina Street Bridge and Atfield Street from February,” Mr George announced.
“In March, attention will turn to short term asphalt works on the Bruxner Highway from Dibbs Street to Brewster Street and from the Elliott Road roundabout to Hollingsworth Creek Bridge.
“Work on the Bruxner Highway between Three Chain Road and Masters roundabout will take place from April, weather permitting, and then Schneiders Lane the month after.”
Mr George said Roads and Maritime Services will work with the community including business operators who may be impacted by the upcoming work.
“Changed traffic conditions including lane closures and reduced speed limits will be in place for the safety of workers, motorists and other road users,” Mr George said.
“Any impact to property access during work will be managed by traffic control.”
