Road upgrade for New South Head Road Double Bay
16 March 2018
Important upgrade work is being carried out on New South Head Road between Gladswood Gardens and William Street at Double Bay.
Member for Vaucluse Gabrielle Upton said the work is being delivered as part of the NSW Government’s $1.5 billion maintenance program which helps maintain and improve roads.
“Upgrade work is being carried out on this busy section of road to improve safety for motorists,” Ms Upton said.
“I am pleased to announce these works as part of my ongoing commitment to improve roads and transport for local residents.
“This work means removing and replacing asphalt as well as repairing concrete slabs and kerbs.
“Once work is complete, motorists travelling through Double Bay will be able to enjoy a more even road surface along this section of New South Head Road.”
Ms Upton said work will be carried out between Sunday 25 March and Thursday 12 April, excluding public holidays and weather permitting. To minimise the impact to motorists, crews will be onsite from 9.30pm to 4am Sunday to Thursday.
“Work is expected to take around five shifts to complete and may be noisy at times but Roads and Maritime Services will take all measures to minimise the impact to residents.”
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
