Installation of safety barriers on The New England Highway from Parkville to south of Murrurundi

Michael Johnsen MP, wishes to advise motorists of changed traffic conditions on the New England Highway for work to be carried out between Parkville and Murrurundi from next Monday.
“The NSW Government is funding the work which includes installing safety barriers to improve safety for motorists”, Mr. Johnsen said.
“Barriers will be installed along the New England Highway south of Murrurundi, north of Burning Mountain, south of Wingen, Main Street at Parkville and south of Parkville.
“It is expected to take around three shifts to install the barriers at each of the five locations seen in the map below”, Mr. Johnsen concluded.
Work will start on Monday 9 April and take place between 7am and 8pm on weekdays, and between 8am and 6pm on Saturdays. It is expected work will be completed by Friday 4 May, weather permitting.
Changed traffic conditions including lane closures will be in place as well as a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
