New clearways on Old Windsor Road between Kellyville Ridge and Glenwood
30 April 2018
New 24 hour clearways will be operational on Old Windsor Road between Kellyville Ridge and Glenwood from mid-May to help improve journey reliability for motorists who travel along the key corridor.
Baulkham Hills State Liberal MP David Elliott said the clearways are part of the NSW Government’s $121 million Clearways Program which aims to reduce delays and congestion by maximising existing road space.
“Roads and Maritime Services is continuing 24 hour clearways along Old Windsor Road after new and extended clearways were recently installed along Old Windsor Road from the M7 Motorway at Glenwood to Hart Drive at Constitution Hill,” Mr Elliott said.
“Installing new clearways on this busy transport corridor through Glenwood, Bella Vista and Kellyville will help manage traffic flow and improve journey reliability by allowing vehicles to be towed if they stop illegally or breakdown.
“The new clearways will replace existing ‘No Stopping’ and ‘No Parking’ restrictions on Old Windsor Road but the existing North-West Transitway will continue to operate with no change.
“This section of Old Windsor Road provides access to Norwest Boulevard, Sunnyholt Road, the M7 motorway as well as access to bus stops along the North-West Transitway.”
Mr Elliott said the new clearways will take effect from Monday 14 May and operate in both directions at all times.
“Motorists are reminded any vehicles parked in the clearway on or after this date risk being fined and towed,” Mr Elliott said.
“Implementing the clearways will ensure all lanes are available to traffic during key travel times.
