Proud to represent communities on the North Coast
Friday 17 October 2014
NSW Minister for the North Coast Duncan Gay today committed to revisiting the North Coast as soon as possible to speak to communities and businesses about their priorities.
Mr Gay said he was proud to add the North Coast to his portfolio of responsibilities.
“The North Coast is a magical part of NSW, I love the people and I love the place,” Mr Gay said.
“If you’re from cold Crookwell, you always aspire to get up to the North Coast and I have visited numerous times in Opposition and in Government.
“I know these areas so well and now, I’m looking forward to tackling a much broader range of issues facing these communities including the environment.
“Up until now I have travelled up and down the North Coast as part of my portfolio to inspect the Pacific Highway, a passion of mine, as well as addressing a number of maritime issues and delivering key local infrastructure projects, like the Byron Bay Bypass.
“Under Labor, the North Coast of NSW was all but forgotten and I am proud the Liberals & Nationals Government has put the North Coast back on the map.
“I am determined to make sure, we as a government, are not only listening but we also continue to address the issues that affect the communities and businesses of the North Coast,” Mr Gay said.
