Change to Kempsey Bypass weekend work hours
14 July 2011
Weekend work on the Kempsey bypass, with the exception of the Macleay River and floodplain bridge, has been limited to one Saturday per month after considering feedback from the local community.
“Currently, the project team has approval to work every Saturday from 8am to 1pm,” a Roads and Traffic Authority spokesperson said.
“The change means work will now only occur on one Saturday each month, between 8am and 5pm.
“If work is cancelled because of wet weather, work will not be carried out on another Saturday during the same month.
“If emergency Saturday work is required outside the adjusted hours, the community will be notified in advance,” said the spokesperson.
The designated Saturdays for work on the bypass in 2011 are:
- 23 July
- 20 August
- 17 September
- 8 October
- 19 November
- 10 December
The approved Saturday work hours for the Macleay River and floodplain bridge section of the bypass will remain 8am to 1pm, when required.
