Repairs to Bruxner Bridge start
8 September 2011
Work to repair storm damaged Bruxner Bridge at Vacy will start next week, weather permitting.
A Roads and Traffic Authority spokesperson said the NSW Government had provided $50,000 in natural disaster funding to repair the bridge, damaged during severe storms in the Dungog area.
“The repairs will restore access along Summerhill Road at Vacy, which has been closed since the June flooding,” the spokesperson said.
“The major storms in the Hunter made life difficult for local residents and businesses, as many local roads were damaged as a result of the storms.
“This funding will help return access to the local community in the area.
“Work is scheduled to be completed within the week,” the spokesperson said.
This work will be carried out by the Roads and Traffic Authority on behalf of Dungog Shire Council.
The funding is provided to restore roads and bridges damaged after natural disasters.
