Speed Zone change at Sallys Corner
2 Deccember 2011
Motorists are being advised of changes to speed limits on Sallys Corner Road at Sallys Corner from Monday 5 December.
“Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has carried out a review of Sallys Corner Road as part of the NSW audit of speed zones,” an RMS spokesperson said.
“As a result the existing 60km/h speed zone has been extended by 100 metres to a total length of 300 metres.
“The review assessed a number of factors including road environment, traffic characteristics and crash profiles.
“The changes on the road are being made to take into account recent development associated with the Sutton Forest Service Centre and new access arrangements on Sallys Corner Road.
“This is about taking into account changed road conditions to ensure the safety of road users is maintained,” the spokesperson said.
Fact sheets about the speed zone reviews are available on the RMS website by clicking on the Roads tab and then the Safer Roads NSW link.
Electronic message signs will be in place to advise motorists of the speed limit change before the new speed zone signs are progressively installed on Monday and will remain in place for at least one week.
Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and have their say on speed limits.
