Kogarah Bay: Exclusive Use this Saturday
15 March 2012
Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence for the safe staging of speed boat races at Kogarah Bay, Georges River, this Saturday (17 March).
Maritime division Operations Manager Botany Bay/ Port Hacking Graeme Dunlavie said boaters should keep clear of the area of Kogarah Bay 200m west of and parallel to Vista Street Sans Souci to an imaginary line adjacent to the intersection of Harris and Water Street Sans Souci in the south, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
“This area will be used exclusively for the safe staging of speed boat races organised by the St George Aquatic Club,” Mr Dunlavie said.
“For safety reasons, skippers should keep clear of this area as it will be restricted for the event and patrolled by control vessels.”
Mr Dunlavie said unauthorised vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by event organisers, a Maritime Boating Safety Officer or a Police Officer.
