Changed traffic conditions on Georges River Road

13 July 2012

Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will start maintenance work in the Greenacre area from Monday 23 July.

“The work being carried out on Georges River Road/Punchbowl Road between Juno Parade at Greenacre and Water Street at Belfield will involve repairing kerbs and gutters, installing bicycle safe grates and pram ramps, road resurfacing and line marking,” an RMS spokesperson said.

“The $1.3 million state funded work will result in a more durable and safer road with reduced ongoing maintenance costs.

“The project is part of Roads and Maritime Services’ commitment to improving roads in the western Sydney area,”

To minimise traffic disruptions, work will be done at night, Sunday to Friday between 8.30pm and 5am from Monday 23 July for about four weeks, weather permitting.

Partial road closures will be in place where the work is being carried out to ensure worker safety. Traffic controls and a reduced speed limit will be in place.

Every effort will be made to minimise any noise impacts.

RMS apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience of residents and motorists while the work is carried out.

Motorists are advised to plan their journey, allow extra travel time and obey all signs.
