Learn more about traffic changes to the Arrawarra interchange
17 July 2012
The local community are invited to attend staffed displays next week about upcoming traffic changes while the new Arrawarra interchange is built.
The changes include redirecting traffic away from the existing intersection of Arrawarra Beach Road and the Pacific Highway from late August until the new interchange is opened in late 2013, weather permitting.
The proposed closure of the intersection will allow the project team to finish building the Arrawarra interchange sooner and increase safety by separating work vehicles and local traffic.
Residents who normally use the intersection will access the highway via the northern intersection with Eggins Drive.
Representatives of the project team will be available to discuss the proposal at the Arrawarra Beach Holiday Park on:
- Friday 20 July from 1pm to 4pm
- Saturday 21 July from 9am to midday
The interchange is part of the $705 million Sapphire to Woolgoolga Pacific Highway upgrade project jointly funded by the Australian and NSW governments.
The upgrade will provide about 25 kilometres of four-lane divided highway from Campbell Close at Sapphire Beach to Arrawarra Beach Road at Arrawarra.
The project includes a bypass of Woolgoolga and interchanges at Sapphire Beach, Moonee Beach, Emerald Beach, south of Woolgoolga and Arrawarra.
