Speed limit changes in Gulmarrad
17 July 2012
Speed limit changes will be implemented on local roads in Gulmarrad in the next week, weather permitting.
A Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) spokesperson said the change resulted from a speed zone review of the existing 60km/h speed limits in Gulmarrad.
“RMS has carried out a review as part of the NSW audit of speed zones,” the spokesperson said.
“The review assessed a number of factors including road environment, traffic characteristics and crash data.
“The 60km/h speed limit will be reduced to 50km/h on Boundary and Platers roads, Federation, Anzac, Penda, Whispering Pines and Aurora places, The Selection, Sundew and Goanna closes, The Homestead, Colonial, Bruce, Parklands, Kingfisher, Heritage, Jamefield and Australian drives, Wonga and Margaret courts and Bower Street.
“The change will provide a more consistent approach to speed zoning along the road and better reflect the road’s pedestrian conditions.”
Warning signs will be in place to advise motorists of the change and will remain for at least a week after the new speed limit signs have been installed.
