Hawkesbury River: Exclusive use for power boat races
19 July 2012
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence for the safe staging of power boat races on the Hawkesbury River at Windsor this weekend.
RMS Maritime Acting Regional Manager Hawkesbury/Broken Bay Hendrik Clasie said boaters should keep clear of the river between South Creek and the Windsor Bridge at Governor Phillip Park between 9am and 5pm.
“This area will be used exclusively for the safe staging of Upper Hawkesbury Power Boat Club races,” Mr Clasie said.
“For safety reasons, skippers should avoid this area as it will be restricted for the event and patrolled by control vessels.”
Mr Clasie said vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a Boating Safety Officer or a Police Officer.
