Temporary closure of North Sydney registry extended
24 July 2012
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has extended the temporary closure of the North Sydney motor registry.
Excavation work on an adjoining building site being carried by a private contractor led to significant noise which forced RMS to temporarily close the registry this week.
Work on the site continues to cause a high level of noise disruption.
As a result, the motor registry will remain closed for an extended period in the interests of customer and staff safety while the work is carried out.
Staff have been redeployed to other motor registries to boost service for customers who would ordinarily use North Sydney.
RMS advises customers to attend registries at Chatswood, Manly, Wynyard or City South if they need counter service.
Alternatively customers can visit www.rms.nsw.gov.au to complete transactions on line.
RMS apologies for any inconvenience the temporary closure has caused customers.
