Speed limit changes on Warana Drive, Inverell
31 July 2012
A speed limit change will be implemented on Warana Drive at Inverell in the next week, weather permitting.
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has carried out a review as part of the NSW audit of speed zones.
“The review assessed a number of factors including road environment, traffic characteristics and crash data,” an RMS spokesperson said.
“The 80km/h speed limit will be reduced to 50km/h for 500 metres north of Swanbrook Road.
“The change will provide a more consistent approach to speed zoning along the road and better reflect the road conditions.
“The change will also provide road safety benefits to residents and road users.”
Warning signs will be in place to advise motorists of the change and will remain for at least a week after the new speed limit signs have been installed by Inverell Shire Council.
Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and have their say on speed limits.
