Change of speed limit on Pacific Highway, Lisarow
17 August 2012
A speed limit change will be implemented on the Pacific Highway at Lisarow in the next fortnight, weather permitting.
A Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) spokesperson said RMS has carried out a review as part of the NSW audit of speed zones.
“The review assessed a number of factors including road environment, traffic characteristics and crash data,” the spokesperson said.
“The existing 70km/h speed limit will be reduced to 60km/h from 220 metres north of Railway Crescent at Lisarow to the bridge over Cut Rock Creek at Ourimbah.
“The change will provide a more consistent approach to speed limits along the road and better reflect the road conditions.”
Warning signs will be in place to advise motorists of the change and will remain for at least a week after the new speed limit signs have been installed.
Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and have their say on speed limits.
