27 August 2012
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) is forming a focus group to assist in the development of a signposting strategy as part of the Tintenbar to Ewingsdale upgrade.
The aim of the focus group is to provide feedback and comments which are representative of the local community that will assist in the development of a business, tourism and highway signage strategy for the project.
Included in the focus group are representatives from RMS, Byron and Ballina Shire councils, Byron, Bangalow and Ballina Chambers of Commerce, representatives from the local business community, Northern Rivers Tourism and Destination NSW.
The group will meet monthly and all feedback and suggestions collected at the meetings will be considered by RMS when preparing the final signage scheme.
A presentation of the overall signposting strategy will be presented to the wider community at an upcoming community information session with comments and feedback invited.
Notes of the meetings including a terms of reference will be available on the project website.
The Tintenbar to Ewingsdale section of the Pacific Highway upgrade is approximately 17 kilometres in length starting at the northern end of the Ballina bypass at Ross Lane and extending to the Ewingsdale interchange.
