Kidman Way intersection upgrade
12 October 2012
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will carry out safety improvements at the Kidman Way and Stafford Road intersection, south of Griffith starting Monday 29 October.
"The $300,000 project is funded by the State Black Spot Program," an RMS spokesperson said.
"There have been seven crashes at the intersection in the past five years.
"The safety improvements aim to reduce rear end crashes by providing a right turn lane for traffic leaving Kidman Way.
"Signs and road markings will also be improved and access to Bunnings Hardware will be adjusted as part of the upgrade.
"Work will be carried out on weekdays between 7am and 5pm and Saturday between 8am and 1pm.
"One lane will be closed to traffic at various times during work for the safety of motorists and workers and a reduced road work speed limit will apply.
"Motorists are advised to drive with caution, allow extra travel time and obey all signs.
"Work is expected to take about six weeks to complete, weather permitting," the spokesperson said.
