Exclusive use for personal water craft races on Lake Macquarie

Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence for the safe staging of personal water craft races on Lake Macquarie this weekend.
Maritime Hunter/Inland Regional Manager Sonia McKay said boaters should keep clear of Cams Wharf at Lake Macquarie between 10am and 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
“The navigable waters of Lake Macquarie next to Cams Wharf and forming a perimeter of about 100 metres around the race will be used exclusively for the safe staging of personal water craft races,” Ms McKay said.
“The area will be marked with inflatable buoys.
“For safety reasons, skippers should avoid this area as it will be restricted for the event and patrolled by control vessels,” she said.
Ms McKay said vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
