Speed limit changes on Oxley Vale and Nemingha
24 October 2012
Speed limit changes will be implemented on Manilla Road at Oxley Vale and on Back Kootingal Road at Nemingha in the next fortnight, weather permitting.
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has carried out a review as part of the NSW audit of speed zones.
“The review assessed a number of factors including road environment, traffic characteristics and crash data,” an RMS spokesperson said.
“The existing 100km/h speed limit on Manilla Road will be reduced to 80km/h from 400 metres north of Glengarvin Drive to 200 metres north of Browns Lane.
The 100km/h speed limit on Back Kootingal Road will be reduced to 80km/h from 700 metres north of Nundle Road to 750 metres north of Ormans Lane.
“The changes will provide a more consistent approach to speed limits along these roads and improve safety.”
Warning signs will be in place to advise motorists of the changes and will remain for at least a week after the new speed limit signs have been installed.
