Exclusive use for rowing regatta on Clarence River
26 October 2012
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence for the safe staging of a rowing regatta on the Clarence River at Grafton on Sunday.
Maritime North Coast Regional Manager James Green said boaters should keep clear of the south arm of the Clarence River between 7am and 5pm Sunday.
“This area will be used exclusively for the safe staging of a rowing regatta organised by the Lower Clarence Amateur Rowing and Sculling Club,” Mr Green said.
“The area will be marked by buoys and monitored by club control vessels.
“For safety reasons, skippers should avoid this area as it will be restricted for the event and patrolled by control vessels.”
Mr Green said vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
