Industry invited to road maintenance contestability briefing
30 October 2012
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) is taking the next step to look at the potential for greater contestability in the provision of road maintenance across Sydney.
"The NSW Government is committed to examining opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of road maintenance delivery across the State," RMS Director, Network Management Michael Veysey said.
"A Road Maintenance Contestability Reform Program Management Office (PMO) has been established to prepare a business case on the options which can be used to deliver maintenance in the Sydney region.
RMS is committed to early and ongoing consultation with industry and will start the process with a briefing from 9am to 12 noon on Wednesday 14 November.
"The ongoing industry consultation process will be outlined at the briefing and potential proponents can provide feedback on the information presented.
"Feedback will be used by the PMO when identifying and assessing various options to deliver greater contestability,” Mr Veysey said.
Each organisation can nominate two participants by close of business Wednesday 7 November. Full event details will be provided upon registration.
