Boaters alerted to exclusive use ski race on Burrinjuck Dam
16 November 2012
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence for the safe staging of a waterski race on Burrinjuck Dam this weekend.
Maritime Acting South Coast Regional Manager Rod McDonagh said boaters should keep clear of waters from Duffys Point and Graces Flats up to Hawks Nest from 8am to 6pm on both days.
“This area will be used exclusively for the safe staging of a waterski race organized by Country ACT Ski Racing,” Mr McDonagh said.
“The area will be marked by yellow buoys.
“For safety reasons, skippers should avoid this area as it will be restricted for the event and patrolled by control vessels.”
Mr McDonagh said vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
