Bells Line of Road speed limit change due to extreme hot weather

18 January 2013

Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) today advised motorists the surface on a 20 kilometre section of Bells Line of Road has softened during recent extreme hot weather and could present an increased safety risk.

“The speed limit on the road has been reduced to 60km/h between Kurrajong Heights and Mount Tomah for safety reasons,” an RMS spokesperson said.

“Maintenance crews are on site and monitoring the road surface as well as carrying out temporary repairs such as spreading sand and filling potholes.

“This temporary repair work will continue for the duration of the hot weather.
