Have your say on weekend no stopping zone at North Willoughby
Friday 25 January 2013
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) is inviting community comment on a proposed weekend ‘no stopping’ zone on Penshurst Street at North Willoughby.
“RMS has received representations from Willoughby Council and local residents on the need to improve congestion on Penshurst Street opposite Patrick Street at North Willoughby during weekends,” an RMS spokesperson said.
“RMS proposes to install a weekend ‘No Stopping’ zone on Penshurst Street opposite Patrick Street to reduce congestion caused by vehicles waiting to turn right.
“Community feedback is invited to the proposal to remove three parking spaces on weekends in addition to the clearway already operating on weekdays from 3pm to 7pm on the western side of Penshurst Street.
“By removing three parking spaces directly opposite Patrick Street traffic will be able to flow more effectively around cars waiting to turn right from Penshurst Street.
“Feedback is invited by Sunday 17 February by email to Nazli.Doraji@rms.nsw.gov.au or by mail to Ms Nazli Doraji, Roads and Maritime Services, Traffic Engineering, PO BOX 973 Parramatta NSW 2124.
”A community issues report will be prepared after submissions close.
“For further information please contact Nazli Doraji on (02) 8849 2277 during business hours.” an RMS spokesperson said.
