Speed limit changes at Clarence Town
18 Feb 2013
Motorists are being encouraged to slow down with speed limit changes to be implemented on two Clarence Town roads in the next fortnight, weather permitting.
A Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) spokesperson said a review was carried out as part of the NSW audit of speed zones.
“The review assessed a number of factors including road environment, traffic characteristics and crash data,” the spokesperson said.
“The existing 100km/h speed limit on Woerdens Road will be reduced to 80km/h from the intersection of Clarence Town Road to 3.95 kilometres west of Clarence Town Road.
“The existing 100km/h speed limit on Limeburners Creek Road will be reduced to 80km/h from 860 metres east of Durham Street to 1.45 kilometres east of Glen Martin Road.
“The changes will provide a more consistent approach to speed limits along the road and better reflect the road conditions.
“Warning signs will be in place to advise motorists of the change,” the spokesperson said.
Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and have their say on speed limits.
