Overnight work to repair steel plate on Spit Bridge
19 March 2013
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will carry out overnight work to repair a steel plate on the Spit Bridge on Monday 25 March.
“Work will be carried out from 10pm Monday 25 March to 5am Tuesday 26 March, to remove and replace steel bolts and secure the steel plate, which, while not presenting a danger to motorists, is rattling when driven over,” an RMS spokesperson said.
“There will be partial lane closures to create a safe working space and traffic controllers will be on site to direct motorists.
“Minor delays are expected due to the changed traffic conditions.
“Every effort will be made to minimise noise for local residents and businesses and the noisiest activities are planned to be completed by midnight.
“Up to date information regarding this work, including any date changes, will be displayed on electronic message signs along the roadway.
“RMS thanks motorists for their patience.
