Night work continues on Sydney Harbour Bridge

Motorists are advised night work will continue on the Sydney Harbour Bridge this weekend to upgrade lanes on the southern end and carry out waterproofing repairs on sections of the bridge deck.

“Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) started night work on Friday March 15 to resurface lanes and carry out minor waterproofing repairs on sections of the bridge deck,” an RMS spokesperson said.

“Night work will continue on Friday 22 March between 10:30pm to 8am, Saturday 23 March from 10:30pm to 8am and Sunday March 24 from 10 pm to 4:30am.

“The last three night shifts will be held on Monday 25, Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 March between 10pm and 4.30pm, weather permitting.

“At least two lanes in each direction will remain open at all times except on Saturday night from 12:30am to 7am where one northbound lane (lane 5) will remain open when traffic volumes are at their lowest.

“Electronic message signs and traffic controllers will be on site to direct motorists.

“No traffic impacts are expected as part of the work and every effort will be made to minimise noise.
