Have your say on safety improvements at Leichhardt

Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) is inviting the public to comment on proposed safety improvements to the intersection of Tebbutt and Hathern streets at Leichhardt.

“In response to the number of minor crashes at the intersection the NSW Government is funding a $350,000 joint initiative between Railcorp, the Sydney Light Rail Program and RMS,” the spokesperson said.

“The proposal involves installing traffic lights and pedestrian crossing facilities at the intersection to provide a safer road with better access for pedestrians and motorists.

“Work would involve building pram ramps, aligning the kerbs, installing No Stopping zones, resurfacing the road and adding new line marking.

“Work is expected to start in late April and should be completed by the end of May, weather permitting.

“A community update on the proposed safety improvements will be distributed to local residents over the next week and is available online at www.rms.nsw.gov.au/projects.

“The community is invited to comment on the proposal by 12 April 2013 to:
