Night work continues on Sydney Harbour Bridge

Motorists are advised night work will be carried out this Friday and Saturday night on the Sydney Harbour Bridge to improve the road surface and reseal small sections of the bridge deck.

“Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) started night work on Friday March 15 to resurface lanes and carry out minor waterproofing repairs on sections of the bridge deck,” an RMS spokesperson said.

“The last two night shifts were delayed from the end of March due to wet weather.

“The work will be carried out on Friday 5 April between 10:30pm to 7am Saturday 6 April, and Saturday 6 April from 10:30pm to 9am Sunday 7 April, weather permitting.

“At least two lanes in each direction will remain open at all times except on Saturday night from 12:30am to 7am when traffic volumes are at their lowest where only one northbound lane (lane 5) will be open.

“Electronic message signs and traffic controllers will be on site to direct motorists.

“Minor traffic impacts are expected as part of the work and every effort will be made to minimise noise.

“We thank road users for their patience while this important work is carried out. For more info visit www.rms.nsw.gov.au/projects,” the spokesperson said.
