Traffic lights switched on for a safer crossing at Leichhardt
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) today announced a new set of traffic lights has been switched on for a safer crossing of the intersection of Tebbut Street and Hathern Streets at Leichhardt in time for the opening of Taveners Hill Light Rail station.
“Work started in May to build the lights to improve safety at the busy intersection for Taveners Hill light rail station which opens next month,” an RMS spokesperson said.
“The NSW Government contributed $370,000 for intersection upgrade work which included the installation of the masts and lanterns and upgrades to the kerb and and line marking.
“RMS carried out final testing for the lights in mid June and the signals are now operational.
“RMS thanks residents and motorists for their patience while work was carried out.
